In August 2018, according to the requirements of the Approval of the Provincial Department of Education on the Approval of Wuhan University of Science and Technology to Take the Lead in Establishing a Working Mechanism for Network Public Opinion in Hubei Universities, the School of Marxism of Wuhan University of Science and Technology was approved as a key research base for humanities and social sciences in Hubei universities in 2023.
“The Public Opinion Research Center was formally established to promote the province's colleges and universities to carry out in-depth network public opinion monitoring and analysis and judgment work. The center has created a shared system to include 130 colleges and universities in Hubei Province in the network public opinion work system of colleges and universities in the province, and constructed a network public opinion work mechanism for colleges and universities in the province between the Ministry of Education and the Hubei Provincial Department of Education, and the research center and the colleges and universities in the province. Through multi-party linkage and cohesion, the research center will enhance its efficiency and work force, and strive to achieve significant results in monitoring network public opinion in Hubei universities, resolving public opinion crises in a timely manner, and providing public opinion analysis reports and public opinion disposal suggestions, so as to play an important role in maintaining the safety and stability of the province's universities.
